“Brad I use to feel like it was my mom’s past in Neahovia that was a mystery to me. This week I am finding out it is my entire family that is a mystery. I just wish I could figure out why we have so many secrets.”

 “Well, if you figured that out you are on the verge of a breakthrough, because I have felt for years that we don’t have ever piece to this huge puzzle we call our lives.”

 “I think we are missing a couple of huge pieces of that puzzle.” Aimee then explained to everyone what she had discovered in Neahovia about her mom, RGA, MAL and the entire Radical War. Mrs. Opal was in shock, Gran had never mentioned any of that to her.

 Brad made copies of Aimee’s files before leaving. Then he and Charles packed her stuff up to her room. She sat on the front porch swing with a sweet tea, her mom’s journal, and her cell. She had to call Aiden before he freaked out. He had been texting her for an hour.

 Aiden answered on the first ring. “About time I have been worried sick.”

 “I’m sorry I have been a little busy and I have a lot to tell you.” Aimee started her story with the files she found in her dad’s office and ended with what Brad had just told her about Deandre.

 “Ok first of all Aimee why are you driving that far alone.”

 “Don’t start that, it definitely wasn’t my first time making this trip alone.”

“Secondly I agree with you about missing a lot of huge pieces to this puzzle. It seems every time we turn around we discover more missing pieces.”

 “Well I think in order for us to figure any of this out. We need to start putting the pieces we do have together.”

 “How are we doing that?”

 “I am starting with the bank accounts. Tomorrow I am going to bank Gran used to see what I can find out. Brad is going to track down Gran’s Will and I need you to see if you can find out what REF is so we can figure out how I get money in my accounts from them.”

 “Wow you have really thought this out.”

 “Yes I have. I am tired of the secrets surrounding me. This is about me now.”

 “Great, that is what it needs to be about you. Just be careful and watch who you talk too.”

 “Where is this coming from?”


“I am not there to protect you.”
